Why “Living Below Your Means” Is Overrated
Cutting back won’t get you rich. Here’s what will.
Hey bestie,
You ever heard someone say:
“You just need to live below your means.”
Like that’s the magic way to wealth 🙄
Let me tell you the truth:
You can’t shrink your way into abundance.
Of course, I believe in being smart with your money.
Yes, that includes budgeting, cutting unnecessary expenses, & not wildin’ out with your credit card.
But let’s be clear:
→ Living below your means doesn’t mean you’re building wealth.
→ It just means you’re surviving better.
Building wealth comes from growing your income, investments, and network.
Not just shrinking your lifestyle.

💡 When I started shifting out of “survival mode,” everything changed:
✅ I started asking how can I afford this? instead of “I can’t afford this.”
✅ I started looking at investments instead of just expenses.
✅ I focused on increasing cash flow instead of just cutting costs.
🧠 Ask yourself:
→ Am I cutting back because I have to… or because I don’t believe I can grow?
→ What would it look like to grow your income $1,000/month instead of saving $100?
Let’s stop playing small with our goals and our money moves.
xoxo,
Brittany Bell
