The Quirky Side of Extreme Wealth
Because private islands aren’t even the weirdest part.
Let’s talk about some super strange habits and behaviors of the ultra-wealthy. They’re not “normal’, they don’t want to be, and I’m not sure any of us should be either.
Here are some extreme, bizarre, maybe funny examples:

Steve Jobs
Went through carrot-only diets so extreme he reportedly turned slightly orange from beta‑carotene overload.

Nikola Tesla
Followed a polyphasic sleep schedule—sleeping six 20-minute naps a day to maximize waking hours, leading to leaps in productivity (but questionable sanity).

Nicolas Cage
Once outbid Leonardo DiCaprio for a dinosaur skull.

Bryan Johnson
Currently spends $2M/year trying to reverse aging so he eats baby food-like mush, tracking every bodily function, and getting plasma transfusions from his teenage son (until it didn’t work).
Okay, okay. All of that is too extreme, but there are advantages to not blending in. There’s an upside to wanting to do what it takes, giving it everything, and then living your dream life.
When you stand out, you attract opportunities that “normal” people never see. That’s the oddball advantage! And thinking out of the box, is a skillset to appreciate.

Do something today that makes you a little uncomfortable (in a good way). Wear something wild, pitch a weird idea, or introduce yourself with a story instead of a title. Then tell me what happened!
