The Art of Winking
Negotiate Like a Girl
This isn’t going where you think it is
I’m not actually talking about winking, though I definitely do it quite a lot. 😄
What we need to talk about is building relationships so quickly that not only is the connection instant, but it has a lightning speed effect on closing deals.
My secret in one word is charm.

People want to be liked. We all do, right? So how do you make people feel comfortable with you? For me, it really is winking.
I naturally incorporate it into everyday conversations. Caution, this will not work for everyone, but for me, it isn’t manipulative or flirty. It’s charming. And it actually works.
The numbers need to make sense, but the faster you speed up the relationship, the better you will negotiate and grow your network seamlessly, that the numbers end up not being the most important thing.
Here are two of my BEST personal tips for networking and negotiating that builds super fast...friends
Tip one: Be a social savior. There is always an event, party, room, conference, etc; where a person knows no one.

They will walk in, nervously look around, then immediately pull out their phone. Sometimes they will walk to get a drink or snack. If you can be the one to ease their discomfort and make them feel like they belong, they will love you the most out of anyone they meet. Be the reason someone else feels comfortable. That alone will change your deal flow.
Tip two: Say something weird when you introduce yourself and they will never forget you.

I am in a business acquisition competition and recently I introduced myself as a “cheater” to one of my competitors.
I was totally referring to the competition, but this intro took on a life of its own. My new friend asked all night what I meant. We had fun the whole time. Then he tried it, and failed miserably.
Here’s the point: I stood out. I had fun.
Do these things really help with negotiations? Yes.
People will sell their businesses to people who understand what they built. They will sell their homes to people who see the vision they once saw.
They will invest into people who make a difference in their lives.
If you do all of this, there won’t even be a negotiation. Then you just need to know your numbers.
Charm makes the math easier.
