Money Isn’t Emotional. You Are.

And That’s the Good News.

I used to feel so much about money.
Guilt when I spent it.
Shame when I didn’t have enough.
Fear that I’d never figure it out.

The biggest misconception I believed is that money was for other people,  not for women like me.

Let’s talk about it.
Money is not emotional.
But we are.

We feel stressed, scared, inadequate, maybe even guilty for having it.
None of it is good.

I Didn’t Really Have a Money Problem.

I had a belief problem.
I believed wealth was for other people.

Having the peace to spend what I worked for was something I earned after I had “made enough” or even after retirement, when I had paid my dues and invested the best I could.

I mean, I thought skipping the $5 coffee was actually a good thing.
(Is depriving yourself a cup of joe ever really a good idea?)

Fearfulness didn’t hold me back. I just didn’t think I deserved it.
My beliefs centered around being humble and unassuming… and broke.

Not anymore. Just give me the coffee and the cash!

A Needed Change for Me

I have a healthier perspective now.
Growing wealth is no longer a mental struggle or source of anxiety.

I know that it can be used as a tool for blessing, impact, and kingdom advancement.

Shame or guilt has no place in my financial story.

When we truly grasp that nothing in life belongs to us anyway, not even the wealth we accumulate, then it frees us to let go of the control it has on our lives and just focus on growth and goals.

If This Hits a Nerve, Good!

That means you’re capable of challenging your own beliefs and fears.

There is nothing wrong with growing wealth.
In fact, think of how generous you could be.

It can feel awkward to want more, but that’s something you have to change.

Do the work it takes to discover what could be holding you back.

Money isn’t my measure of success, and it never will be.
But I’ve learned to grow it without making it an idol, and talk about it without ostentatiousness.

Challenging my beliefs changed my life forever.
